In conjunction with the International Day for Women in Maritime (18 May), Women in Shipping and Trading Association Malaysia (WISTA Malaysia) and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) will jointly deliver a two-day programme in Kuala Terengganu. Day 1 features a leadership forum that brings together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, academia, and professional associations to examine how inclusive leadership and diverse talent can drive innovation, resilience, and sustainability across the maritime sector. Day 2 extends the dialogue into practice through a research-led marine conservation experience at Chagar Hutang Turtle Sanctuary, led by UMT’s Sea Turtle Research Unit (SEATRU), offering participants hands-on exposure to sea turtle conservation while highlighting the link between ocean stewardship, climate resilience, and the future of the blue economy.
